The McKendree University Japanese Festival celebrates the traditional and contemporary culture of Japan. The event will next take place during the month of April, 2009. Each day represents a different aspect of Japanese heritage: culture, history, traditions and lifestyles. Holman Library will host the sights, sounds and tastes of Japan through performances, films, exhibitions, readings, discussions and other cultural experiences for the benefit of the McKendree faculty, staff, alumni and students, as well as visitors from across the greater St. Louis metropolitan area.

The Festival  celebrates our association with Technos College in Tokyo and the Tanaka Ikueikai Educational Trust. Each year, McKendree and the Tanaka Foundation, have worked together to select outstanding students and faculty to participate in a two week educational exchange to form "a bridge of understanding" between our two cultures.
