Assistant Director of Human Resources

McKendree University is seeking a motivated, self-directed individual to assume responsibilities of Assistant Director of Human Resources.

Primary duties include coordinating and administering the employee benefit plans which include health, dental, vision, life, long term disability insurance plans, and the retirement plans. Other responsibilities include assisting with activities associated in filling vacant positions and employee training. 

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of the principles and practice of human resource management and personnel administration; knowledge and experience with local, state, and federal rules and regulations affecting the operation of a human resources system; ability to research, interpret, and compile information such as benefit plans, tax laws, and college policy to determine allowable benefits and wages for employees; excellent communication skills, and experience in human resource information systems.  

A Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or closely related field and 3 to 5 years of human resource experience is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
