Model UN Tips & Links
Model UN requires research and experience. In order to help new students, these tips as well as resources are offered as a potential guide to improve their experience at any Model United Nations conference.

Tips
  • Always be diplomatic in working with either the dais or other delegations.
  • If possible, sit near the center so that chairs will see you within their line of site.
  • Use your bloc and most closely aligned nations as a base to support your ideas.
  • Make sure to get out working papers and resolutions quickly while still insuring quality.
  • Make sure to represent the views of the nation you represent, not the views of where you live or grew up.
  • Make sure ideas fall under the authority and responsibility of your committee and do not shift responsibility to other committees.
  • Make sure to implement organizations, committees, and policies already in place when trying to find an efficient solution to such large scale problems.
