Spring Fling

Spring Fling is becoming a favorite traditional program on campus for the spring semester.  The event is hosted by Campus Activities Board, with assistance from various Registered Student Organizations.  A number of activities have been planned for the day, including inflatables, rides, a children's activity area, carnival style games, and of course music!

New to this year’s Spring Fling is the Chalk the Circle event, in which participants use sidewalk chalk to create large murals on the blocks of the circle drive near the fountain at McKendree.  Chalk the Circle is open to the public, and all artists - big, small, professional or novice, are encouraged to participate.  Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:  Blue Ribbon – Best Mural of the Event, People’s Choice, and Most Unique or Creative Artwork.  Complete rules and entry information can be found by clicking on the links on the left side of the page.

We invite you to celebrate spring with us on a great Saturday afternoon!  Games, bands, and activities are free for McKendree Students.  Current students at McKendree may present their McKendree ID at the ticket booth and get a wrist band, which will also get them one free sandwich and soda, or one free nachos and soda.  The general public may purchase passes for only $7.00, which includes inflatable entertainment, carnival games and rides, bands, and other activities.  Concession stand items will be available for a nominal cost.  Lawn chairs are encouraged, coolers prohibited.  In the event of rain, the event will be held in the Intramural Gym, and the Statham Gymnasium.  For more information, click the links on the left side of the page or contact the Campus Activities Office at:  618-537-6856.
