The Discovery

Technos Week is part of a long-term plan for international exchange. Students and faculty members from colleges and universities in the United States, England, and New Zealand are invited annually to observe and experience Japanese culture and education.

Participants are provided an opportunity to learn about education in Japan, especially the methods and facilities used to train students at a senmon gakko, or vocational college. While the students from both countries are given the opportunity to communicate and share experiences, faculty members are also able to exchange ideas and learn about different teaching styles. One of the clearly stated goals of Technos International Week is to form "a bridge of understanding" between two cultures, based on communication between peers during the various educational activities planned on the campus of Technos International College and on other excursions.

Various cultural activities are also organized to give the guest participants some idea about everyday life in Tokyo and the surrounding countryside. Thus, an atmosphere is created to enable participants to look beyond cultural barriers and enjoy a truly Japanese experience.
