The 2008 Day of Percussion was held on Monday, March 3rd - Casmir Pulaski Day. This year, high school and college students both competed in a solo contest. The day also had clinics given by Dr. Michael Vercelli (Percussion, University of Arizona) and Amanda Legner (Percussion, Illinois Wesleyan University). The day was capped off by an evening concert featuring the McKendree University Percussion Ensemble, and guest artist Dr. Michael Vercelli. Also featured on the concert were the solo competition winners: High School Division - Amanda Clement (Collinsville HS); College Division - Brian O'Donnell (McKendree).
