Baccalaureate 2008
The Baccalaureate program is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 9 in the Melvin Price Convocation Center (MPCC). Please arrive in full regalia at MPCC by 9:30 a.m. In order to process at 10:30 a.m. all students and faculty must be lined up and ready to march into MPCC no later than 10:15 a.m.
Answers To All Your Baccalaureate Questions
WHO?: All those who plan to participate in the Baccalaureate Service/Hooding Ceremony (Please note: Undergraduate students only).
WHEN?: Friday, May 9. Please arrive by 9:30 a.m.
WHERE?: Melvin Price Convocation Center - outside in front. Records Office personnel will have a table set up.
WHAT?: Wear your cap and gown, and carry your hood.
HOW?: Proceed to the table where Records Office personnel will hand you your name card. Then proceed to your degree sign and line up behind it. Records Office personnel will split the line into two equal lines and you will process in, led by the marshals.
Hooding Ceremony: After the Baccalaureate service the marshals will direct you to the platform. Carry your hood over your left arm. Just before you reach the platform, hand your name card to the marshal and when you get up on the platform hand the hood to Dr. Reynolds. Dr. Ryan will place the hood over your head. Dr. Dennis will shake your hand before you leave the platform to return to your seat. Student marshals will direct you back to your seat.
Order of Assembly: Students will process in the following order for Baccalaureate:
- Bachelor of Arts (white hood)
- Bachelor of Science (gold hood)
- Bachelor of Science in Education (light blue hood)
- Bachelor of Music Education (pink hood)
- Bachelor of Fine Arts (dark brown hood)
- Bachelor of Business Administration (drab [light brown] hood)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (apricot hood)
