McKendree Concert Choir

A 50-60 voice ensemble directed by Dr. Nancy S. Ypma, this choir is open to all singers. Each semester the Concert Choir performs major works ranging from the Baroque era to the 21st century. In the past the choir has sung works by Vivaldi, Handel, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Schubert, Britten, Michael Hurd and John Rutter among others. The choir has presented concerts featuring music from operas, classical masterpieces and Broadway musicals. The choir often performs with an orchestra or brass or wind ensemble. This course may be taken for 1 or 0 credit and students may also use this course to fulfill their General Education Fine Arts requirement. If you have any questions regarding this ensemble, please contact Dr.Ypma at nypma@mckendree.edu

 

McKendree Chamber Choir

A smaller ensemble directed by Dr. Phillip Wilhelm, this choir is open to singer by audition only.  Each semester the Chamber Choir performs 1-2 concerts singing a variety of repertoire and styles. This group also represents the university to the community as it performs off campus in various venues and tours. This course may be taken for 1 or 0 credit. If you have any questions regarding this ensemble, please contact Dr. Wilhelm at pewilhelm@mckendree.edu

 

McKendree Vocal Jazz Ensemble

A small ensemble focusing on individual and small group ensemble singing, this choir is directed by Dr. Wilhelm. The group performs every semester with the other Jazz ensembles and focuses on a variety of repertoire from jazz to pop.
